Go up the porch steps, but before re-entering the chapel, take time to examine the twin doors.

The six door panels, carved by wheelchair-bound Sam Songo, randomly depict Biblical scenes, each with an African connection:

• Simon of Cyrene helping Jesus' carry the cross,
• Philip baptising the Ethiopian eunuch,
• Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus fleeing to Egypt,

• Joseph being sold into Egyptian slavery by his brothers,
• the Israelites crossing the Red Sea and
• the Queen of Sheba visiting King Solomon.
